THE countdown to Zululand's biggest business and social event, the Zululand Expo, is on with only four months to go.
The combined entertainment and exhibition showcase takes place this year on Thursday, 25 September to Saturday, 27 September at the ZCBF Community Park show grounds in Richards Bay.
The Zululand Expo Committee are currently hard at work finalising preparations for the region's popular and annual shop window, which is expected to attract over 300 exhibitors and 28 000 visitors countrywide.
With stands having been sold out a month ahead of schedule for the last two years, the Expo committee has decided that exhibitors this year will only be given stands on a first come, first serve basis.
'Selection of exhibitors will be strict to avoid duplication of products and to give new exhibitors the opportunity to book space.
Stands are limited, so exhibitors are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment. No stands will be kept for any exhibitor unless full payment has been received up front for a stand,' said Expo Manager, Virna McMaster.
Entertainment
Dubbed as a popular entertainment weekend on the social calendar for the entire family, Zululanders have over the years been exposed to South Africa's top performers, bands and artists.
However, McMaster said the final entertainment programme lineup depended largely on financial and committed support received from the local companies and businesses.
'A unique concept of the show is that every year the entertainment programme starts at a nil budget and the sponsorship has to be raised to put together a programme for all age groups and cultures. We are looking for sponsors to assist us and in return there are many advertising and marketing opportunities available at the show,' said McMaster.
