AMANGWE Village, the haven for orphans and vulnerable children living with the effects of HIV/Aids has received a R1.5-million boost from Bell Equipment.
The money is earmarked for various specified projects aimed at ensuring sustainability and operational support.
Speaking at the cheque handover at the Alton factory on Wednesday, Bell Equipment CEO, Gary Bell said improved trading fortunes have allowed the company to get more involved in Socio Economic Development.
'The company is in good shape and is committed to supporting organisations such as Amangwe Village.
'The work done via the various projects which focus on assisting those infected and affected by HIV is one that we are all accountable for and cannot be sustained without the support of local industry,' said Bell.
'The areas of focus within the Amangwe portfolios fit our Socio Economic Development programme perfectly.
'Bell Equipment's relationship with Amangwe Village extends back to its inception where, despite not initially contributing financially, representation on the Manco has been ongoing since then.
'Today sees another milestone in our commitment to the area in which we reside.'

Operations
Gratefully accepting the handsome donation on behalf of Amangwe Village, Manager Aaliya Fransch said the money was especially welcomed as it targeted support for operations and not merely for capital expenditure.
With some 200 people to care for in the extended village located at KwaMbonambi, funding specifics include:
• Purchase of a vehicle to support project delivery
• IT equipment - wireless connection
• Renovation of existing buildings
• Repair of on-site houses to provide additional income via rental
• Orphans and vulnerable children support
• Peer education workshops
• School and after-school programme support, including school fees and uniforms.
