STAFF at the Empangeni SPCA did a double take when a local youngster (who did not leave his name) arrived pushing his three dogs in a trolley.
SPCA spokesperson, Cheryl Whittaker, said he had walked at least seven kilometres to the community clinic.
'This young man had well-mannered dogs who waited patiently for their turn to be dipped, de-wormed and vaccinated,' she said.
The clinics are held during the week at the SPCA and are free for any indigent person with the dips and drugs being paid for through fund-raising initiatives.
'We attend to about 36 dogs a week which increases during summer months,' said Whittaker who added that any donations towards a bottle of dip or de-wormer is always welcomed.
