Steel executive on world board

Thami Msubo

THAMI Msubo, Tata Steel's Chief: HR, Corporate Affairs and Empowerment, has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE).
WACE, based in Boston, USA, is an international organisation devoted to promoting work integrated learning across the globe.
WACE unites academic, government, and corporate leaders from 48 countries to examine the impact of work integrated learning on global workforce development.
It has almost 700 members representing over 160 institutions and communicates with nearly 2 500 work integrated learning colleagues from 48 countries.
WACE implements annual conferences, symposia, and institutes attracting nearly 1 000 participants.
It advances work integrated learning by, among others, publishing books, conducting research, presenting international symposia and supporting an international network of professionals.
Work integrated learning combines professional work experiences with classroom studies in many forms, including: research, internships, study abroad, clinical rotations and industry placements.
'I am thrilled to be associated with such a prestigious world-class organisation and look forward to contributing to the challenges faced by the international community by volunteering my spare time and make this world a better place for all, especially to give hope to our youth,' said Msubo.
He is also a member of WACE International Symposium Review Committee, whose function is to review the international papers submitted to international symposia.
